Leticia H. Miranda

Leticia H. Miranda, 57, of San Elizario, TX, entered into eternal rest on June 10, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel G. Miranda, and father, Daniel Hurtado. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Miranda; mother, Bernardita Hurtado; sister, Lydia Hurtado; and aunt, Angelina Duran.

Leticia made history as the first Alderperson elected in the newly incorporated City of San Elizario, where she passionately advocated for the betterment of her community. A proud graduate of both a bachelor’s and master’s program, she believed deeply in the power of education. She served her community through her work at UTEP, San Elizario ISD, and as a victims’ advocate with Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Leti will be remembered for her faith, resilience, and her fierce love for family, friends, and the community she proudly served.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary starting at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr., El Paso, TX 79907. A Mass will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 131 S Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, TX 79907. A Graveside will follow at 11:15 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, TX 79907. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home- Americas.
