Linda Zavala, cherished daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend passed peacefully on June 15, 2025 in El Paso, Texas. She was born on November 30, 1954, and was the eldest daughter of Jesus and Emma Zavala.
She was a lover of life’s simple pleasures, creating a home that welcomed everyone at any time. Her passion for music, home cooked meals and the joy of family gatherings was a true testament to how deeply she treasured those she held dear. Linda was witty, had a great sense of humor, and was easy to talk to. She always made time to lend an empathetic ear, and was deeply loyal to friends and family.
A 1973 graduate of Jefferson High School, she retired from the U.S. Postal Service after being employed at Ft. Bliss. She remained committed to her community as the co-founder and Vice President of the Val Verde Vecinos Neighborhood Association.
Linda will be deeply missed by her siblings, Rodolfo, Graciela Torres (Ernesto), Norma, David, Roberto, and Fernando. She was preceded in death by her father, Jesus Zavala; and siblings, Gilberto (Peggy), Jesus Jr., Sylvia, Daniel, and Elvia. She dearly loved her eleven nieces and five nephews.
The void felt by her family, friends, and the community is immeasurable, and we take solace in the memories she gifted us. We will truly miss you, Linda! May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
