Lorena Caviness

Lorena Day Caviness passed away on April 14, 2015 at the age of 65. She is survived by her loving son Eric Caviness and his wife Dolores Saldana-Caviness. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Anne Childress and her brother John Childress. She was a dedicated teacher with the El Paso Independent School District for over 30 years and longtime member of the El Paso Junior League and Southwest Koi and Pond Association. Most recently in retirement she was an active member of the Westside Welcome Club of El Paso. She loved all animals and throughout her life took a special interest in animal rescue. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home-West; 480 North Resler, El Paso, Texas 79912. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Memory Gardens of the Valley; 4900 McNutt Road, Santa Teresa, New Mexico 88008. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of El Paso or the Animal Rescue League of El Paso. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
