Lorenzo H. Ramirez was born April 17, 1948 to Secundino and Eduvijes Ramirez in Allamoore, TX. He grew up and spent most of his life in Sierra Blanca, TX. He met his lovely wife, Raquel Morales through the close friendship that their moms “Vicky” and “Flora” had. They would fall in love in Junior High School and married on September 5, 1965. Lorenzo was filled with the Holy Ghost and Baptized in Jesus’ name in 1976 and a few years later became the pastor of the Apostolic Assembly church in Sierra Blanca. During many of those years he worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad as he pastored and served as Treasurer for West Texas District in the Apostolic Assembly, pastored, co-pastored several churches and some years later was named Bishop of the District he called home. More recently, “Lencho” served the people of Hudspeth County through the Sheriff’s Office as a Transport Officer.
Lorenzo is preceded in death by his parents “Nino” and “Vicky”, and by his sister “Nelly.” He is survived by his wife Raquel M. Ramirez, sons Lorenzo Jr, Adolfo, Miguel, Pablo and Abram; daughters Noami, Sara and Eunice; brothers David, Freddy and Abel; sisters Adela, Elpidia, Martha and Leticia; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Not to mention nephews and nieces, members of various churches he pastored and co-pastored in from Texas to California whom he loved and treated as his own.
On Saturday morning, November 25th, 2017 heaven ushered him into God’s Mighty Presence. Thank you Jesus for showing us who you are and how much love, dignity, respect, humility, patience, mercy, grace, compassion, selflessness, understanding and wisdom can be shown through one amazing life.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM, Friday, December 1, 2017 at Alpha Omega, 480 S. Yarbrough. A Viewing will begin at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Sierra Blanca High School Gym, 500 Sierra Blanca. Interment will follow at Sierra Blanca Cemetery.
