Lucia Barraza

Lucia Barraza entered into the hands of Our Lord and Savior on a Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the age of 99. Lucia was a good person with a warm heart and a calm demeanor that made everyone feel accepted and comfortable. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply loved and greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria and Jesus Ponce; her loving husband, Florentino Barraza Sr.; her beloved sisters, Hortencia Garcia (Felipe), Manuela Rodriguez (Manuel), and Otilia Gonzalez (Domingo); her beloved granddaughter, Laura Patricia Barraza; and her daughter-in-law, Norma Quezada Barraza.

She is survived by her loving children: Robert Barraza; Jose Rene Barraza (Aida); Florentino Barraza Jr.; David Barraza (Joanne); Lucia Guadalupe Garcia (Randolph); and Elizabeth Romero (Arturo); her beloved sister, Maricruz Marquez (Isidro); her beloved grandchildren: Maria Angelica Barraza (Tracy), Vanessa Brady (James), Adriana Inez Clowe (Jeremy), Santiago James Barraza, Florentino Daniel Barraza III (Alexis), Adrian Pablo Barraza, Ariel Monet Barraza, Marissa Nicole Lane (Noel), and Randolph Michael Garcia Jr.; and her great-grandchildren: Jackson Robert Brady, Maxwell Flynn Brady, Miles Eliot Clowe, Theodore George Suzuki, Tate Emerson Clowe, Quinn Oliver Clowe, Emilia Luz Brady, Noel West Lane V, Florentino Amias Barraza IV, and Lillianna Barraza.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m., at Sunset Funeral Home-West.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Santo Nino De Atocha Catholic Church, 210 S. Clark Dr.

Pallbearers will be Robert Barraza, Jose Rene Barraza, Florentino Barraza Jr., David Barraza, Randolph Michael Garcia Sr., and Arturo Romero.

Private Interment by family will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
