Lucian “Luke” Martin peacefully passed away Sunday, November 22, after a short battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born September 6, 1931, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
Lucian is survived by his beloved spouse of 56 years, Amelia, and children Mike from Kentucky, Robert , Noemi, Rita, and Eric; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Lucian proudly served in the US Army for over 25 years. He served two tours of duty in the Korean War and two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. During his time of service, Lucian was the recipient of numerous awards. He retired as a sergeant first class.
He went on to work for the United States Postal Service and retired after 20 years. Lucian spent his retirement years traveling and fishing. He was also affiliated with the Masons and Shriners associations.
Goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you. Until we meet again!
Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
