Luis De Santos

June 15, 1926 — September 17, 2015

Luis De Santos, 89 was born on June 15, 1926 in Smeltertown, Texas. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 17, 2015. “The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.” Proverbs 20:7. Luis went on to serve in the United States Army during WWII CO K 4th INF in the Philippines and Occupation of Japan. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1987 with over 31 years of service. He is preceded in death by parents Herculano and Carlota P. De Santos; brothers, Antonio, Elias, Juan; sisters, Elena, Carlota and Josefina. He is survived by his loving wife, Francisca A. De Santos; daughters, Carlota (Douglas), Maria Luisa (Daniel), Cecilia (Alex), Rosa Maria (Phil), Francisca (Roy), Maria De Santos; sons, Luis M. (Estela), Jose R. (Margaret) Gabriel, Eduardo (Maria Elena), Manuel C. (Monique); 30 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; Sister, Francisca De Santos and brother Lourdes De Santos. The De Santos family would like to thank the staff at Sierra Medical Center CCU for their wonderful care. A really big thanks and hug to Dr. Alfonso Chavez who cared for our Dad for the last 14 years. He always treated us like family and we will always remember his great care and love for him. Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 PM Thursday, September 24, 2015 with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 9:30 AM Friday, September 25, 2015 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, located at 4805 Byron St. A Committal Service will follow at 11:00 AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers the family would like you to donate to the National Kidney Foundation (nfcares@kidney.org). Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home- Northeast.
