Luis H. Imai

Luis H. Imai passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on August 13, 2013 at the age of 84. Luis was born April 21, 1929 in El Paso, Texas to Luis Takeo and Paulita Imai. He is a graduate of Bowie High School class of 1946. After high school he served his country in the U.S Navy and was Honorably Discharged. Luis received training in Chicago as a mechanic and had his own wheel alignment and brake service business for many years. On May 5, 1960, Luis married Aurora Ramirez and spent the next 53 years in a wonderful and loving marriage along with their children. Luis was a devout Jehovah’s Witness and had a deep love for God and his son Jesus Christ which he instilled in his family. Luis is survived by his adoring wife Aurora and loving children Richard (wife Irma), Cathy, Louie (wife Alejandra), Robert, Arthur (wife Lily), and Patsy (husband Jorge); and grandchildren Crystal, Stephanie, Aubrey, Richard Jr., Arthur Joseph, Jenna, Lily, Jacqueline, Olivia, Takeo, and Gianna. Also surviving Luis are his siblings Reymundo, Ramon, David and Amelia. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Arcadia and Lucy. Gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday August 17, 2013 from 3 to 6 PM with memorial services to begin at 4 PM at Sunset Funeral Home East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
