Luis Romero, Sr., 84 passed away on August 25, 2014, in Greeley, CO. He was born on June 21, 1930 in Garfield, NM. He enlisted in the US Army, and after completing his time in the service he moved to El Paso, where he met and married, Delia Armendariz Romero, the mother of their thirteen children. He was a retired veteran of the Army National Guard, and also retired from the US Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Delia Armendariz Romero; two sons, Jesus Luis Romero and Robert Nemecio Romero; and a brother, Adrian Romero. He is survivied by eleven children: Yolanda Romero, Luis Romero Jr., Beatrice Reynaud, Rodolfo Romero, Miguel Romero, Teresa Gephart, Ricardo Romero, Juan Romero, Jesus Romero, Delia Ann Duarte, Albert Romero; 28 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Nemecio Romero and three sisters; Cruz Murillo, Piedad Castro, and Alicia Campa.
He is also survived by his second wife, Irma Desantiago Romero and her granddaughters of Greely, CO. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm with a vigil at 7:30 pm Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Service will be at 11:30 am Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Interment will be at 1 pm Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
