Luis "Chito" Urias, a beloved figure in the El Paso community, was born on June 19, 1941, in El Paso, Texas. He passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness and dedication.
Chito dedicated his life to public service, working as a foreman for the city of El Paso until his retirement. His commitment to his work and community exemplified his strong work ethic and passion for helping others. He was widely respected amongst his peers and the residents he served, embodying the true spirit of civic duty.
A proud alumnus of Bowie High School, Chito never forgot the importance of education and the value of hard work. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a pillar of his family, showering them with love and support throughout his life. He was a devoted grandfather to 11 grandchildren and had the joy of seeing 24 great-grandchildren grow and thrive.
In his leisure time, Chito found great pleasure in listening to music and playing his guitar, sharing these joyful moments with family and friends. His warmth and musical spirit brought comfort to those around him, creating lasting bonds through the melodies he cherished.
Chito is survived by his Children, Jose Luis Urias, David Urias, Lydia Urias and Irma Urias and his sister Yolanda Urias. He was loved by many who will hold him dearly in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rodolfo Urias and his son Julian Urias. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, and he will be dearly missed by all.
Visitation services will be held on October 24, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Homes - Northeast, followed by a Prayer Service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The Funeral Service will commence at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, concluding with interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery/Chapel at 1:00 PM.
Luis "Chito" Urias brought light into the lives of those around him and leaves behind an enduring memory filled with love, laughter, and music. He will be remembered fondly and missed immensely by his family, friends, and community.
