It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Lydia M. Tarango, age 86. Mom passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, April 25, 2025 surrounded by the LOVE of her family. After graduating from Jefferson High School in 1956 she married the Love of her Life, Alfonso S. Tarango on September 28, 1958. MOM was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, GG, and caregiver to so many throughout her life.
Waiting for in Heaven, is the “LOVE OF HER LIFE” and husband of 58 years, Alfonso S. Tarango. Her parents Ernesto and Francisca Mendoza and her sister Rosa Delia Valenzuela.
She is survived by her children Lydia Isabel Palacios (Sergio), Alfonso Tarango Jr. (Irma), Julieta Portillo (Rene), David Tarango, Daniel Tarango (Yvonne), her 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Mom leaves a legacy of Faith, Love, Family and Strength that will forever live in our hearts.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM, Monday, May 05, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 06, 2025 at Chapel of Our Lady of the Light, 355 Dolan. Graveside Service will follow at 2:30 PM at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
