Macario Gonzalez Jr 69, passed away peacefully in his home of 42 yearson February 25, 2022. Sonny G was born in El Paso, TX, raised in Smelter Town until the age of 4 when his family moved to the RanchlandHills area, graduating from Bel Air High School.Sonny G was preceded in death by his parents Macario and Maria Gonzalez, daughter Jennifer Marie, and sister Cecilia Gonzalez. Left to carry on his beautiful legacy are his sons Angel (wife Lucy) and MichaelJoe (wife Bonnie Toquinto), his grandchildren Michael (wife Anissa Alba), Christian Isaiah, Mikailah Marie, and great-grandchild Malikai Sage. Survived by 6 sisters Eva Rodriguez, Anna Gonzalez, Terri Villareal (husband Tony), Stella Ramirez, Martha Silva (husband Salvador), Margie Gonzalez, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Sonny G worked over 40 years holding various positions in the distribution of medical supplies business, to include Director of Materials Management, until his retirement. Sonny G was a devoted parishioner at St. Stephens Catholic Church. As a man of faith, he instilled God’s word, morals, family values, and his strong work ethic to his sons and their children. He lived a humble life, always grateful for what he had, always saying he was a blessed man because of his Family.Sonny G was a 35 yr. deputized volunteer for Mt. Christo Rey. During the annual pilgrimages, he along with his cousins (Castanon), prepared the roads and trails of Mt. Christo Rey and provided security. He loved to go fishing, enjoyed camping, and never missed an opportunity to dance. It was moments spent with family and friends that he cherished the most. Sonny G will be deeply missed by his entire family and friends. Visitation will be held on March 11, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home, 9521 North Loop Dr., from 9:30am to 12:00pm, with rosary at 10:00am.The mass will be held at St. Stephens Catholic Church, 1700 George Dieter Dr., at 12:30pm with burial to follow at 2:00pm, Mt.
