Maira Luisa Chavarria

Maria Luisa Chavarria, 98, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, born July23rd, 1915 in Torreon, Mexico passed away peacefully the morning of July 24th, 2013. An astoundingly beautiful woman, she was the light of our lives, and her relentless faith, love, strength, perseverance, sense of humor and ability to always see the positive side of life will always be treasured. In spite of her chronic illness that she endured for 20 years, she lived with dignity and never lost sight of those qualities, never complaining about her circumstances. We thank God for having had those years with her and for giving us the grace to aspire to live life the way she did. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pascual Carpio and Gudelia Garza, siblings Pascual, Jesus, Alfonso, Juana, Raquel, Victoria “Tota”, and Gudelia, son Jesse Lynn Turner, and her spouses Luis Armendariz, Percy Turner and Richard Chavarria. She is survived by her daughters and spouses, Edna Esparza (her guiding light) and Gilbert, Alicia DiConti, Belma “Cookie” Rosas and Louis, and Pamela Smith and David†, 16 grandchildren and their spouses, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many in-laws and friends. Dear Lord, may we always be inspired by her light. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Nazareth Living Care Center and Dr. De Jesus for their kind and compassionate care. Thanks also to Dr. Blanc and Dr. Chavez for your friendship and care. In lieu of flowers, the family would request a contribution to Nazareth Living Care Center, 4614 Trowbridge Dr. 79903. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30pm, Monday, July 29, 2013 at Nazareth Living Care Center Chapel. Interment to be followed at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
