A much-loved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, Roberto Carrasco, 66, of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home November 15, 2013 with his family present. He had bravely confronted and fought cancer but eventually capitulated to the disease.
He was born June 5, 1947 in Presidio, Texas, and resided in El Paso, Texas for the past 43 years. He graduated from Presidio High School in 1967 and served proudly as an Infantryman in the Vietnam War and was later honorably discharged after a two-year stint in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Carrasco was the plant manager for Regency Plastics for 26 years. During his tenure as Plant Manager, he grew the business exponentially from its inception, a tribute to his hard work and his entrepreneurship. He took pride in his work, but truly relished the friends he made during his time in business.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Arlene Carrasco; his oldest son, Ernesto Carrasco; his daughter, Tanya Carrasco; his youngest son Martin Carrasco; three grandchildren, Nicole Carrasco, Tyanie Delara and Taigon Delara; two brothers, Martin Carrasco, Manuel Carrasco, and many close friends.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 9:00pm with a Memorial Rosary at 7:00 on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Memorial Service will be held at 9:30am Friday, November 22, 2013, at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Interment will follow at 10:30am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
