Manuel Raul “Ruly Boy” Flores, 69, passed away on October 18, 2013. Raul was a proud Vietnam Veteran and cherished his service with the United States Army. Raul was very patriotic and volunteered his free time assisting the Department of Veteran Affairs by driving disabled veterans to and from medical appointments. Raul loved his pets, fishing and working in and around his house. Raul spoke highly of his VFW (Chapter 574) members. Raul was a very giving person, who always saw the good in others. Raul couldn’t sit still for “more than 20 minutes” and would tell his family that he would be outside digging a hole so he could cover it back up, just so he would have something to do. Raul is survived by those who were so blessed to have him in their lives; his wife, Mary Helen Flores; three sons: Michael, John, Matthew; and his grandsons: Aaron, Ryan, Marco and Diego. Visitation will held from 4:00-9:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Sunset Funeral Home-East. A Graveside Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
