On April 16th, 2014, our good Lord called our father, Manuel J. Guerrero to join his wife, Gloria Guerrero in Heaven. Manuel J. Guerrero passed away peacefully in his home. He was born in Trinidad, Colorado March 8th, 1929. He was a long life resident of El Paso, Texas. Manuel was an intelligent, hardworking and dedicated loving husband, father, brother, uncle and son. He was a self-made man who started his own business, M&R Iron Works on Alameda and had it for over 35 years. His work is proudly and prominently displayed in El Paso as well as in Austin and other major cities in Texas. He was a devote Catholic who loved and prayed to our Virgin Mary (La Virgen de Guadalupe). Manuel would give his shirt off his back to anyone in need. Horse racing was his favorite hobby. He is survived by his six children: Carlos Rene Guerrero (Angelica), Mary Helen Lechuga (Fortunato), Norma Alicia Gushin (George) Patsy Ayala (Raul), Manuel Angel Guerrero and Gabriela Ring (Shell); fifteen grandchildren: Jennifer Anne Jimenez, Stephanie Terrazas, Kristopher Harpoon, Alan A. Lechuga, Michael A. Lechuga, Alexandria Ayala, Adam Ayala, Nathaniel A. Guerrero, Dante Guerrero, Rebecca Guerrero, Briana Guerrero, Carlitos Guerrero, Seth Ring, Reagan Ring and Roman Ring; as well a great-grandchild, Ryan Terrazas. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace Papi, for you have seen God’s face and you are now rejoicing with (Him) our Lord.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m., with a Vigil to begin at 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 18, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Homes-East, 750 N. Carolina. Scripture Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Interment to follow at Evergreen East Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
