Manuela (Nellie) Gomez Candelaria went to be with Our Lord on August 03, 2025. Manuela was born May 1, 1934, to Leocadio E. Gomez and Maria del Refugio Pina.
Manuela loved our Lord, she often prayed the Rosary and attended Holy Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister. Nellie attended Mt. Carmel Parochial Grade School and Ysleta High School.
Manuela married Rodolfo Candelaria (Rudy), in 1954 and raised a family of four. A secretary by profession, she worked for Ysleta ISD., for numerous years. Her greatest gift was that of a loving and caring mother, grandma, and wife.
She is preceded in death by her husband Rodolfo (Rudy) Candelaria., her son Rudy Jr., her parents Leocadio E. Gomez and Maria del Refugio-Pina Gomez, siblings Paul (Elvira), Jesus, Ignacia, Refugia "Cuca" Caro, and Magdalena G. Hinojosa.
Manuela is survived by her sons: Gilberto Candelaria and family; Alberto Candelaria (Mary) and family; Miguel Candelaria (Argentina) and family. She is also survived by her sister Guadalupe "Lupe" Trejo (Marcelino +).
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:30 pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
