Anthony

Manuela O. Soriano, aged 83, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on December 9, 2025, in Anthony, NM. She was known for her fierce, unconditional love and playful sense of humor. Manuela enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and loved her family and pets. She loved to be at home with her plants and pets and yet enjoyed traveling with the family.

Manuela was a loving, dedicated mother, mother-in-law, grandma, and great grandma. She was a very hard worker, always ensuring that whoever was in her home was taken care of.

Born of the love and strength of her parents, Jesús and Ángela Olivas, Manuela lived life as one walks across beloved land: with firm steps, with honest work, and with a heart that always held a place for everyone. Today, she is reunited with them, with her beloved husband Roberto Soriano, and with her departed sons, Gonzalo and Martín Soriano, whose names continue to resonate in the memories of those who loved them.

Manuela is survived by the brightest fruits of her life:

Leticia Loya, Blanca L. Alaniz, Dora M. Soriano (Don Arms), Gloria M. Contreras (Luis), Nellie M. Soriano, Roberto Soriano (Vivian), and Genaro Soriano (Claudia).

She is also remembered with love and gratitude by her siblings, Jesús Olivas, Hortencia Olivas, and Eliseo Castro, as well as the large family she helped to raise: 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, who carry in their blood the legacy of her character, her tenderness, and her wisdom.

Services in her honor will be held at Sunset Funeral Homes – West, 480 N. Resler, El Paso, TX 79912, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m.
