On the afternoon of May 14, 2016 Margaret Clark Doss, 98, passed away at home surrounded by her family. Margaret was born on October 25, 1917 in Roanoke, Virginia to Daniel & Lucy Blankenship Clark. They preceded her in death as did her husband, Luther W. Doss; daughter, Freda “Sissie” Shelvatine; brothers Lewis and Royal Jeter Clark; niece Cathy Clark; great- great- grandson Adrian Delgado. Margaret spent many years in Roanoke before moving to Danville, Va. with her husband and their son, Luther W. “Jay” Doss, Jr. She was a private caregiver at Roman Eagle nursing home and other facilities in the area. She and her husband, Luther Sr. also spent a few years in Miami, Florida before moving back to Virginia. She was a faithful member of the Pentecostal Church of God family in Danville. In 1983 Margaret moved with her family to El Paso, TX where she spent the remainder of her life as a homemaker and caregiver to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was one of the oldest members of Hillcrest Baptist church in El Paso, TX.
Margaret is survived by her son Luther “Jay” W. Doss, Jr. (Verna Joines Doss), her grandchildren Kathy Lynn Doss, Robby J. Doss (Sandra Y. Doss); Kimberly J. Palmieri (Tony Palmieri); Sonja G. Dean (Dave Dean); Crystal Michelle Hughes (Doug Hughes) (Mike Trejo); and Sean A. Doss. She is also survived by her great- grandchildren Amanda Dean (Ramon “Junior” Delgado), Christopher Yanez, Nycole Palmieri, Casandra Yanez, Jesse Dean, Luke Palmieri, Dylan Trejo, Logan Hughes, Ryan Trejo, Joshua Doss, Justin Doss, Chloe Palmieri and great- great- granddaughter Anneliese Delgado. She is also survived by her niece Betty Jo Anthony.
Margaret’s granddaughters Kimberly, Sonja and Crystal Michelle would like to acknowledge the time our brother Robby spent with her and was there to provide for her when we could not be, it did not go unnoticed.
A very special thank you to Sandra Yanez Doss, Casandra Yanez and Verna Doss for their dedication to Grannie’s care during the times of her greatest need at the end of her life. She was blessed beyond measure to have your love and devotion.
