Margaret "Maggie" Tanner

Margret “Maggie” Green Tanner passed away peacefully on Friday, January 14, 2022 in El Paso, Texas. Margret was born in Frankfurt, Germany to Arthur and Helene Feichtmeir. She grew up in war-torn Germany and in the aftermath of World War II. After marrying Stanley B. Green, a U.S. Soldier, she came to America in 1960 and became a naturalized citizen on November 22, 1966. She lived in New Jersey, went back to Germany, and then Arizona. In 1971, Margret moved to El Paso where she spent the remainder of her years. Margret was a life member of Sierra Blanca Court No. 5 Order of the Amaranth, two times past President of the Social Order of the Beauceant, and a long-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star Wallace Houston #1100. She was an active member of Mt. View Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed gardening, reading, drawing, cooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing, bowling, and spending time with her family. She spent many years as a Bobby Sox softball manager and enjoyed watching football and soccer. Margret is preceded in death by her parents and grandson Samuel Charles. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Pryor and husband Rick, her son, Gary Greene and wife Colby, daughter Cindy Carter; six grandchildren, Rachel Malinda and husband Stephen, Justin, James, Christian, Nathanael, and Camille; seven great-grandchildren, Isabella, Addison, Marcus, Mia, Charlotte, Verity and Serena; and sister Helene Krämer and husband Helmut. Margret, who also became known as Oma later in life, will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 5, at 11:30 a.m. at Mt.
