Ma Refugio (Cuca) Aguilar, 83 years old, died on Monday, March 14, 2016 after a valiant 3 month fight. She had a strong will to live, a deep faith in God and the unwavering love of family and friends who we as Sons & Daughters gained strength and hope from.
Cuca was born on July 4, 1932 in Coyame, Mexico. She was the eldest daughter of Tomas and Julia Juarez and has 1 sister and 5 brothers.
Known for her friendship to many she was loved by all that knew her including nieces, nephews, cousins and sisters in law and in the neighborhood was a surrogate mother and friend to many. She was an amazing cook and used that gift to bring and keep the family very close. She always spoke of her childhood and teenage years in Sierra Blanca, Texas and how happy her times were and how appreciative she was of her Tio Jesus and Tia Pilar who played an important role in her life and who she never forgot.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roby, who she was married to for 28 years until his death in 1983 and raised 6 children: Larry, Tony (Annette), Beverly, Carmela, Michael and Soccorro (Deceased). She also has 13 grandchildren who she had very unique and special relationships with and 9 great grandchildren.
Cuca also had 4 special people in her life Roby, Ruben, David and Cynthia who she had unconditional love for and beautiful relationships with.
A special thanks goes to her caregiver Tina Santos who spent endless days with her and motivated and energized her on a daily basis. Also, a special thanks to Tender Care Home Health who provided compassionate care for our mom for years.
She had a long and beautiful life filled with a deep love from her children, Larry, Tony, Beverly, Carmela and Michael and all her grandchildren and great grandchildren and now transitions into our Guardian Angel in Heaven. She is irreplaceable and we look to the day when our sorrow eases. Our hearts are broken and we love you Mom.
