Maria Guadalupe Castañeda

Maria Guadalupe Castaneda, “Lupita” Dec. 15, 1960-Dec. 8, 2006 passed away December 8, 2006. Maria was born in Albuquerque, NM to Felipe and Josefina Flores. She was the youngest of four sisters, Luz Maria Easter, Blanca Favela and Patricia Flores as well as her beloved cousin Rosa Ramirez. Maria was raised in El Paso, Texas where she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School as the number one ranked tennis player in 1979. She went on to study at The University of Texas at Austin’s School of Architecture where she proudly completed her B. Arch., Bachelor of Architecture degree. Maria worked for Sierra Providence as the Director of Property Management. Maria loved to bake, especially during the holidays this was just one of the many ways she brought love and warmth to her family and friends. Maria leaves behind her loving husband and friend of many years Rodolfo Castaneda and her “Reyna” Andrea Elizabeth as well as a multitude of family and friends who will forever remember and rejoice her life. A memorial service for Maria will be Thursday December 14, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
