Maria Consuelo Garcia

August 4, 1922 — January 5, 2023

El Paso, Texas

Our beloved mother, Maria Consuelo Garcia, entered eternal life Thursday, January 5, 2023. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was born in Smeltertown, TX to the late Wenceslao and Petra M. Terrazas and was a life-long resident of El Paso, TX. Consuelo worked for over 50 years in the retail and advertising industry, advancing from counter salesclerk up to personnel manager; most of those years for F. W. Woolworth. Consuelo was a graduate of El Paso High School, an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, a fantastic cook, and loved her rose gardens.  She was a beautiful soul with a smile that could light up a room. She was a devoted parishioner of the Our Lady of the Valley church, and a past member of Our Lady of the Valley Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court of Our Blessed Mother #1731.

Consuelo is preceded in death by her husband Mario A. Garcia Sr., sisters, Maria Socorro Gomez and Natalia Sanchez and son-in-law Joe Prati III. She is survived by her son, Mario A. Garcia Jr. (Terri), daughters, Rosa Maria Garcia-Sosa (Oscar) and Martha Irene Garcia-Prati, 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Evangelina Santa Cruz, Graciella Garcia and Rita Martinez, brothers-in-law, Fernando Garcia and Gustav Hebrok, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed by all.
