Maria De Jesus Flores

Maria De Jesus Flores, known affectionately as “Conga,” age 79, peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, September 15, 2025, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to many.

Maria was a strong and determined woman, known for her stubborn spirit, but above all for the deep love she had for her family. Though not one to show much affection, she carried a kind heart and was always ready to help others. She found joy in cooking meals for her loved ones, bringing everyone together and creating memories that will be cherished forever. Maria also loved music, dancing, and flowers, and she found comfort in the simple beauty of nature and its sounds. These were the things that brightened her days and reflected the warmth she shared with those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Manuela Olivo; her husband, Jesus Alfonso Flores; her children, Alfonso Flores and Elizabeth Hernandez and siblings, Angela Rangel, Juan Manuel Olivo, and Jose Alfredo Olivo. She is survived by her loving children: Margot Jimenez, Rene Flores, Federico Flores, Genoveva De La Rosa, Coral Flores, and Eduardo Flores; eight siblings; twenty-nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church. The Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Anthony Community Cemetery.
