Maria Esperanza Lerma

Maria Esperanza Lerma, aged 98, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 11, 2024. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend to many.

Born on December 19, 1925, in El Paso, Texas, Maria was preceded in death by her parents Salvador Garcia and Petra Martinez, her devoted husband Miguel Enrique Lerma, her children Raul Andrade, Marta Pinedo, and Irma Rivera, and her step-children Miguel Lerma Jr. and Consuelo Lerma. She is survived by her son Miguel Andrade Jr., step-children Joe Lerma and Rosa Lerma, and her half-brother Julian Garcia. Additionally, she is survived by twenty-seven grandchildren, and a multitude of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored.

Maria's life was a testament to love, kindness, and resilience. Her warm presence and unwavering support touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered fondly by her extended family and friends, who join together to honor her memory and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.

A devoted homemaker, Maria took great pride in caring for her family. Renowned for her exceptional cooking skills and beautiful prayer blessings, she brought joy and comfort to those around her. She found solace in her faith, attending the Catholic Church for many years, and was known for her strength, intelligence, caring nature, and unwavering love. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, dancing, and had a deep passion for flowers and candles.

Pallbearers include Miguel Andrade Jr., Alfonso Rivera III, Oscar Chavez, Oscar Andrade, Kevin Anthony Andrade, Raphael Pinedo, Manuel Pinedo, and Salvador Pinedo.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, April 22, 2024, with a Holy Rosary to commence at 6:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Homes-West. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Sacred Heart Church, 602 S. Oregon St. El Paso, Texas 79901. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:30 pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, Texas 79906.
