Maria Elena Saleh Abraham, 80, passed away on July 14, 2026, in El Paso, Texas, in her home. She was born on November 16, 1945, in Mexico City to Lebanese immigrant parents, and she carried her rich cultural heritage throughout her life, shaping the woman she became and the legacy she leaves behind.

Maria met her beloved husband, Angel R. Abraham, in Mexico City. They married in Santa Cruz, California, in 1977 and built a life together until Angel’s passing on October 10, 1995. After more than 30 years apart, Maria now joins the love of her life in eternal rest.

A devoted wife and mother, Maria is survived by her daughter, Michelle Abraham of Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carime Abraham, in 2024.

Maria was known for her strength, independence, and deep love for those around her. She had an infectious laugh that brought joy to those fortunate enough to know her, and a stoic resilience that carried her through life’s challenges. She was a woman who possessed a quiet strength and an unmistakable spirit of her own.

Maria’s passion for cooking was unmatched. She loved preparing meals that brought people together, and her home was often filled with the warmth and comfort of her cooking. She also cherished her plants, surrounding herself with their beauty and nurturing them with the same care she gave to the people she loved.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in El Paso, Texas, on August 14, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Her daughter invites family, friends, and all who knew Maria to gather in remembrance and celebration of her life.

Maria Elena Saleh Abraham leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, strength, and resilience. Though deeply missed, she will remain forever in the hearts and memories of those who loved her.
