Maria Teresa Valdez

Maria Teresa Valdez, age 100, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother; and will be greatly missed. Maria is preceded in death by her parents; Rafaela Ortiz and Genovevo Valdez; and her loving husband; Jose Acencion Ortiz. She is survived by her dearest children; Manuel Ortiz, Jose Guadalupe Ortiz, Camelia Ortiz, Maria Del Refugio Ortiz, Maria Del Refugio Salas, Laura C. Ortiz, Patricia Ortiz, Luz Maria Ortiz and Maria Teresa Ortiz); her 31 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many extended family and friends to cherish and honor her memory.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 14600 Horizon Blvd., El Paso, TX 79928. Followed by a Graveside Service at 12:10 pm at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
