REFLECTIONS OF LIFE
MARIAN LOUISE TAYLOR DAVIS was born to the late Marvin A. Taylor and Bessie M. Taylor in El Paso, Texas on May 5, 1966. She attended public schools in the Ysleta Independent School district, graduating from Bel Air High School. Marian continued her education at Park University where she received her Associates of Science in Management and her Bachelor of Science in Management, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She was a lifetime member of the NAACP and was recently elected secretary of the El Paso Chapter NAACP. She was also an active member at STARS, a rape crisis center.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Gregory D. Davis (her Rabbit); and daughter, Jasmine Louise (her Pookie); Uncle, Thurman Taylor of Los Angeles, CA; Brother-in-law, Darrell Davis and; cousins, Jill Taylor, Brian and wife Stephanie Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, many friends, three dogs, and a cat.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the El Paso Chapter NAACP or Kappa Community Service Foundation. There is also a Marian Davis Memorial Fund at FirstLight Federal Credit Union.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm with Monday, March 2, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Service will begin at 12 noon on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Committal Service will follow at 2:00pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
