Mario Hector Contreras Moriel

Mario Hector Contreras Moriel, age 88, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 10, 2024 in El Paso, Texas. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and will be greatly missed. Mario is preceded in death by his parents; Pedro Conteras Sanchez and Elena Moriel and his wife for 54 years, Hortencia Contreras. Mario is survived by his beloved children: Luz Elena Contreras Rajme (David), Mario Hector Contreras (Aracely), Nora McFarland (David), Luis Arturo Contreras (Karla), brothers: Benjamin, Sergio, Carlos Contreras; sisters: Martha Escareno and Lourdes Martin, 12 grandchildren, Oscar, Sofia (Felix), Luis (Shain), David, Mercedes, Valeria, Carlos, Andrew, Mario, Mariana, Alejandro and Emilio, and, 2 great grandchildren: Angelo and Felix. He is also survived by many extended family and friends who cherish and honor his memory. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a Holy Rosary to follow at 6:00pm at Sunset Funeral Homes-West. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 5700 Doniphan Drive. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-West, 480 N. Resler Drive.
