Mark was known as Uncle Gump. Mark is also survived by family members in Tennessee, his Aunt Peggy Anderson, Sandra Whittinghill, and numerous cousins.

Mark lived the last 12 years in El Paso, in his home in the northeast.  Prior to that he spent time working in Houston, Rio Grande Valley, and Central Texas.  Mark was experienced in many different business related professions during his lifetime.  Mark especially enjoyed his life with his nephews and nieces & grand nephews and nieces , it was his greatest joy in life and they loved him deeply.  He also enjoyed the outdoors going fishing and the firing range (a habit taught early in his life by his father Don), and working with his hands.  Mark had a magical way to make everyone feel comfortable, he started every conversation with a smile, he was wry and sarcastic in an amusing way.  Always bluffing when he played poker!

To those of us who knew him he gave his love abundantly, he treated each of us with kindness & respect, he was our mediator, our strength & he kept the home fire burning for his family.  Mark spent his last 12 years dedicating himself with unlimited love taking care of our Mother.  It seems like too little to publicly recognize our gratitude for all of his sacrifices he made on behalf of our family, we are eternally grateful, we will always love you and be unable to replace you in our lives. Thank you, Dear Marky.

Mark is to be cremated at Sunset Funeral Home with a Memorial Service planned for the family at a later date.
