Martha M. Aranda

Martha Moreno Aranda, age 83, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend, and she will be dearly missed. Martha is preceded in death by her parents Arturo and Guadalupe Moreno and her ex-husband of 35 years, Juan Aranda. She is survived by her sons, ‘mijos’, John Raymond Aranda, Danny Aranda, and Andrew Rene Aranda, daughters Denise Aranda and Stefanie Aranda, her brother Hector Moreno, as well as her grandchildren Isabella Marcel Aranda, Jocelyn Hailey Aranda, and Evan Joseph Aranda. She is also survived by many extended family and friends who cherish and honor her memory. 

Martha’s commitment to education was evident in making sure her sons were in school before returning to complete her own degree in Linguistics at The University of Texas at El Paso. Martha continued with her commitment to education, employed with EPISD as a teacher for 30 years, educating and touching the lives of many students. Her legacy to education will continue through her sons, daughters, grandchildren, the many students she enjoyed teaching, and her fellow colleagues. Martha enjoyed traveling, often traveling to visit with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, along with her beautiful smile and contagious laughter.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes-West, 480 N. Resler, El Paso, Texas 79912 with a Vigil to commence at 6:00pm. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30am on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79907.
