Martha R. Okubo

Martha Okubo passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, in El Paso, Texas, at the age of 81, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and loved ones.

Martha was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Roberto Okubo; her daughter, Monica Okubo; her son, Rene Okubo; her sister, Anita Cano; and her brother, Ruben Reynoso.

She is survived by her loving children: Martha “Tita” Valenzuela (Agustin), Margaret Torres (David), Raquel Gutierrez (Manny), Beto Okubo (Gloria), Becky Navarrette (Joe), and Ryoichi Okubo (Laura). She also leaves behind 17 cherished grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren on the way.

Together with her husband, Martha raised eight children and devoted her life to her family, teaching them strong values and instilling the importance of love, perseverance, and unity. She was a hardworking and selfless mother who never gave up and always ensured her children had everything they needed. Martha was deeply loved and adored by her grandchildren and great grandchildren she will be remembered as a strong, caring, and devoted matriarch.

Martha’s love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family will live on in all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 19, 2026 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 2709 Alabama. Interment will follow at 11:30 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza.
