Mary’s Celebration of Life
Mary D. Clemmons was born Dorothy Mary Delois Weddle on February 11th, 1934, to Maybella Bryant and Sam Weddle in Sturgis Kentucky. “Lois” as she was known to her family and friends in Sturgis, married Samuel “Peanut” Clemmons Jr. on February 7th, 1955. After getting married, Mary moved to El Paso, Texas with her husband and her first born son Samuel Darnell Clemmons and never looked back. Mary and Samuel then went on to have four more children Melvin Theodore Clemmons (Linda), Denise Lorraine Clemmons, Regina Faye Boutte, Cedric Bouvier Clemmons (Silvia), and bonus son Sundance “Mike” Smythe. Mary was called home to be with the Lord on December 13th, 2025. Preceding Mary in death are her son Samuel “Darnell” Clemmons and her husband Samuel “Peanut” Clemmons.
Mary worked for the Army Airforce Exchange Services (AAFES). In 2014 at the age of 80, she retired after 41 years. Mary became known as one of the twins with her beloved friend Gloria Waller. Gloria and Mary were always together enjoying life after retiring from their jobs. They began dressing alike when attending church, school functions for their grandkids, and other social events. When you saw Mary, you saw Gloria…Twins.
Mary loved her grandkids and great grandkids. “Nanny” as they called her was always spoiling them. Having worked as a short order cook, she would make each one of them their own special eggs for breakfast. Mary’s grandchildren who are left behind to cherish her beautiful memories are Nikisha Cofield, Natasha Hopkins, Shakia Boutte (Michael Johnson), Ashondra Clemmons, Sirena Bouvier (Guillaume Bouvier), Shardae Boutte (Jaqueline Ornelas), Anesha Clemmons, Nicolette Clemmons, Ellington Clemmons, Sharmaine Smythe, Morgan Mathis-Smythe, John Sosa, Michael Arizmendez, Benjamin Arizmendez (Ashlee Arizmendez), and Thomas Arizmendez.
Also cherishing her memories are her great grandkids Gianni, Quincy, Iain, Mykia, Kaomi, Senae, Kason, Zyon, Noel, Mykal, Myles, Mykhi, Vivienne, Zayden, Julian, Madeleine, Mykaela, Zoey, Arianna, Amorie, Keith “Ke-Ke,” Sébastien, Isley, Ace, Levi, Phoenix, June, Aiden, Cairo, and Nairobi.
“Take your rest Sweet Queen, job well done. No time for regrets of love once left behind. This is your time. So spread your beautiful wings and fly, straight into Gods glory and receive your eternal reward. Until we see you again. We love you, so fly…fly…fly…”
