Mary T. Johnson, 94, of El Paso, TX passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015. Mary was born on December 27th, 1920 in El Paso with parents Uarda and Walter Tippin. She attended El Paso High School and New Mexico State University before beginning her teaching career at the New Mexico School For The Blind where she taught for 2 years. The remainder of her teaching career was spent at the EPISD where she taught at Zack White School, Lincoln Middle School and Lindbergh Elementary School (now Mitzi Bond). Mary taught a total of 32 years, primarily teaching 2nd grade. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, son, Robert, twin brother, William Tippin and his wife Mary. Mary is survived by her husband of 72 years, Winston A. Johnson, two sons, Winston and his wife Vivian of Las Cruces, Kenneth and his wife Kathy of El Paso and her deceased son Robert’s wife Resa of Canutillo. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Private graveside service will be held by the family at Memory Gardens of the Valley.
