Mary Louise Johnson February 1, 1937 - September 19, 2025
Mary passed away suddenly in El Paso, TX. She was born in White Deer, TX into a farming family (Pawlik) and they moved to the Texas Rio Grande Valley, Mission, TX to farm. Mary was the sixth of nine children, having seven brothers and one sister. It was here she met her husband, Ken Johnson and they were married on February 4, 1956 (69.5 years) They moved to El Paso, TX in 1956 and lived in the Northeast the entire time. Mary worked at Sears Roebuck before moving to the Texas Highway Department, from where she retired. Mary was an avid outdoors person; enjoying fishing, boating, golf, water and snow skiing and traveling. Throw in her enjoyment of playing cards, one of her favorite games being Hand and Foot, with family and friends. Being 100 percent Polish, she thoroughly enjoyed the Pawlik family reunions, being around all her fellow Poles. She and Ken traveled to most of the world, except Asia. Covid interrupted those plans. She was a kind and giving person with both her time and money. A devoted Catholic and a devoted wife and mother. She loved to laugh and was always ready to share a beer with family and friends, always ready with a hearty “Cheers". Mary is survived by her husband, Ken, sons Jim (Laura) and Kerry, brothers Emil, Wilfred and Bobby. Mary was predeceased in death by her parents John and Florence Pawlik, sister Lillian, brothers Chester, Daniel, Johnny and Louis.
It would have been Mary’s wish to continue giving, so in lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Judes Children Hospital, Shriners For Kids or Wounded Warriors.
