Mary S. Piel

Mary S. Piel, 91, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. Mary was born in San Ignacio, Baja California Sur, Mexico on September 30, 1924. She grew up in Naco, Arizona and moved to El Paso, Texas in 1947. She would later marry the love of her life Herbert C. Piel Sr. on September 09, 1960. She lived in El Paso till June 1980 then moved to Chaparral, New Mexico. She enjoyed farming, raising animals and gardening. She worked part-time for John M. Hills and his wife Sally as a cook and housekeeper from 1970 to 1993 and then she retired. She loved being an active member of her church and was always ready to lend a helping hand to someone in need. She is preceded in death by her parents Braulio Camacho and Rosario Camacho Liera Ojeda, and her husband Herbert C. Piel Sr. She is survived by her son Herbert C. Piel Jr., his wife Priscilla and her three grandchildren Evelyn C. Piel, Herbert C. Piel III, and Samantha M. Piel. She is also survived by her sister Lourdes Camacho Liera who resides in Guerrero Negro, Baja California Sur, and numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation: 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Service: 9:30am on Tuesday, November 03, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Interment will follow at 11:30am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
