Mary Louise Session

Mary Louise Session was called home on May 2, 2018. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Michael J. Russell; her parents, Charles Sr. and Maria A. Session; and brother, Charles Jr. Mary was a dedicated RN that loved working at Thomason General Hospital for 45 ½ years. She was known for her compassion and her love of nursing. Mary also worked as an EMT clinical Instructor at EPCC. Mary was the first recipient of the Mujer Obrera Award for leadership in healthcare in 1994. She also received the El Paso Commission for Woman-2004 Recognition for EP Womens Hall of Fame and was recognized by the El Paso Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta as Professional of the Year in May 2012. Mary was a loving mother to her children Sylvia and Donald. She is survived by her sisters: Guadalupe Gentry, Catalina Sims (Porter), and Manuela Stemsley; grandchildren: Erik, Natasha, Richard, Ilani, Michael Jr., Emilio and Lola; great grandchildren: Sariyah, Richard II, and Lilly Ann; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and long-term friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00-9:00PM, with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 7:00PM, Monday, May 7, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00AM, Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, 12200 Vista Del Sol Dr. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
