Maurine B. Ory

Maurine Bishop Ory was born on March 25, 1938 to Ruby and Emmet Bishop in Katemcy, Texas. She was a country girl and, along with her 5 brothers and sisters, spent a joyous childhood in the Hill Country of Texas, running and playing in fields and pastures, climbing on granite rock formations, and jumping from rock to rock in the streams, always barefoot. She met and married the love of her life, John Ory in Brady, Texas in 1956 and the couple moved to El Paso to establish their home. John preceded her in death in 1981. Maurine’s career in management at Providence Memorial Hospital lasted for 47 years until she was forced to retire by her failing health. She took great pride in her work and was immeasurably rewarded by the joy she received from helping others. She is survived by 2 brothers: Johnnie Bishop (and his wife Medra) of Amarillo, Texas and Clinton Bishop (and his wife Sharron) of Brady, Texas; a sister, Mary Ann Bishop of Mesa, Arizona; and 5 nieces and nephews. Graveside Service will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
