Merlene J. Ballway

Merlene Ballway, 71, entered God's arms Thursday, October 15, 2015. Originally from Stow, Ohio she was a longtime resident of El Paso since 1969. She blessed us with her generosity and service to groups such as the American Legion, Post 36 where she was past president of the Women's Auxiliary. She also was an active member of the church choir at St Raphael's Catholic Church, as well as the Red Hat Ladies, She was a patriotic advocate for all Veteran's and Military causes. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lloyd and is survived by her son Matthew, daughter Melissa Withers and grandsons Cameron, Jaron, and Braydon, and by her son Benjamin and spouse Lisa and grandchildren Alexander and Clarissa. Visitation will be Monday, October 19, 2015 from 4-9 PM at Sunset Funeral Home-East, Chapel of Peace with a Rosary at 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 10 AM at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar, with internment to follow at Evergreen East Cemetery.
