Michael Eugene Harrison, a beloved son, brother, uncle, partner, and lifelong musician, peacefully transitioned from this life on March 12, 2026, after a long illness. He was 67 years old. Michael was born on December 18, 1958, in Abbeville, South Carolina, to Mrs. Thelma Priscilla Johnson Harrison and Mr. Lemuel Garnell Harrison. Michael was a gifted and passionate musician whose life was deeply rooted in the universal language of music. As a talented bass player, he shared his gift across many genres, including jazz, rock, and rhythm and blues. Through his music, he brought joy, comfort, and connection to all who listened, and his spirit will continue to resonate in every note remembered. As the son of a military family, Michael experienced life in many places, including Texas, Pennsylvania, Maryland, South Carolina, Oklahoma and Germany. Yet, it was in El Paso, Texas, where he spent most of his life, building meaningful relationships and leaving a lasting imprint on those around him. In addition to his musical journey, Michael worked as a car salesman with Dick Poe auto sales and was also employed by Radio Shack. In every role, he was known for his warm heart, gentle spirit, and the kindness he extended to others.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in knowing that Michael’s suffering has ended and that he now rests in eternal peace. We trust in God’s promise that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, and we find solace in the belief that Michael’s soul is now at rest, embraced by divine love and grace. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his love a gift that will forever remain in our hearts. Michael Eugene Harrison will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. . He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mrs. Thelma Priscilla Johnson Harrison. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted father, Mr. Lemuel Garnell Harrison; his siblings, Ms. Joyce Norman, Mr. Lemuel "Chip" Harrison (Gigi), and Ms. Vergi Scott; one nephew, Ryan Harrison; two nieces, Channell Harrison (Jesse) and Sydney Scott; four great-nephews; one great-niece; one great-great nephew; and his longtime friend, Ms. Patricia Turner, along with a host of extended family and dear friends
