Michael Edward Martinez

Michael Edward Martinez, age 53, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on February 12, 2026. He was born on September 11, 1972.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Eduardo Martinez, and his beloved grandparents, Refugio and Margarita Martinez.

He is survived by his loving children, Aaron Martinez and Alyssa Martinez; his mother, Dolores Ramos Martinez; his sisters, Dolores Genera and her spouse, Roger Genera, and Tracy Vasquez and her spouse, Mark Vasquez. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and will forever cherish his memory.

Michael was a proud graduate of Cathedral High School. He went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy, where he was stationed in Pearl Harbor. During his service, he was awarded the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Unit Commendation, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Sharpshooter Pistol Ribbon, Sharpshooter Rifle Ribbon, and earned the Enlisted Warfare Specialist designation. He was honorably discharged in 1998. His service reflected his dedication, strength, and commitment.

Michael will be remembered for his love for his family and the special bond he shared with those closest to him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. A Chapel Service will be held at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 1:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson.
