El Paso – On August 21, 2022, Michael William Slavik of El Paso, Texas died at the age of 74. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 7, 1948, as the eldest child of Frank Stanley Slavik and Catherine Louise Sullivan. He and his late wife Evangeline enjoyed a collaborative and loving marriage that bonded them for over 32 years until her untimely death in 2019. Together they shared a passion for travel, often throughout the world.
After his graduation from Texas Tech University, Michael relocated to El Paso where he was actively engaged in a long and successful real estate practice. His real investment was in youth athletics in El Paso. Over the years, Michael had a lifelong love of sports and was well-known in the community for sponsoring, mentoring and coaching West Side youth basketball and baseball teams.
Michael was preceded in death by his loving wife Evangeline Barajas Slavik and his parents Frank Stanley Slavik and Catherine Louise Sullivan. He is survived by his sister, Kimberlee Slavik Sturrock of Houston, Texas.
In keeping with Michael’s wishes, cremation has taken place. He never liked being the center of attention and per his wishes, services will be private.
