Miriam Loera Silva, 83, entered into eternal rest on April 17, 2015. She was born on June 10, 1931 and was a lifelong resident of El Paso and is survived by her children. Daughters: Dorothy Silva Martinez, Linda Silva and Hazel Silva; Son, Santiago Silva III (Josie); and sister, Olga Loera-Romero. She was preceded in death by her husband Santiago Silva, Jr.; her mother and father, Rebecca & Rafael Loera; sisters, Amelia Casares, Lucila Loera; and two brothers, Jose Eleazar and Hector Manuel Loera. She has six grandchildren: Chrystal Simental, David Pacheco, Naomi Solis (Myke), Veronica Silva, Santiago Silva IV (Viviana), Samantha Martinez; and nine great grandchildren: Angel, Isabel, Giovanni, Rey, Nicholas Diaz, Isabelle, Amaya Solis and Joseph Solis, Santiago Silva V and Madison Silva. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She worked at the Popular Department store Downtown during the 1970’s, and also worked as a Career Service Specialist for EPCC from 1984 until she retired in 1997. She continued working for EPCC part-time thru 2005.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-9:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 7:00pm Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass, El Paso, Texas. Funeral Mass will begin at 12:30pm on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
