Nellie Lou McLaurin

Nellie McLaurin passed away on August 09, 2016 at The Bartlett Assisted Living. Nellie was born on April 02, 1920 in Stephens County, Texas. Preceding her in death are her parents, Lela and Neal Ham; her husband, Omah; son, Gary and brother, Murry. Nell lived and grew up in Woodson, Texas marrying Omah and moving to the family farm in O’Donnell then on to Pecos, TX for many years. The family then moved to Canutillo, TX in 1960. Survivors include her sister Jean; daughter Connie (Jim) Paul; grandsons: Robert (Tara) and their children Brayden and Kendall; Taylor (Kiersten) and their children: Evan Mac and Logan Kate. Daughter-in-law, Gwen McLaurin Dickson (Mike) and granddaughter Kristin (Eric) their children Lauren and Luke; grandson, Colby (Emily) and their children: Jireh, Ralpha, and Nissi. There are also numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Many thanks for the kindness showed to Nellie from her many friends at St. Mark’s Methodist (Agape Class), Bible Study (Sharon Owens; Group) and Prime Timers. A special thank you to Cassandra Ramirez and Willie Olmstead for their loving care and Nell’s good friends, Dorothy Holdeman, Mary Drake and Paul Wagner. Another special thank you to the Hospice of El Paso staff and the entire staff at The Bartlett Assisted Living for their care and making her comfortable. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30pm on Friday, August 19, 2016 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 5005 Love Rd., El Paso, TX 79922, with Reception to follow at church. Inurnment will be held at 1:30pm (Central Time) on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos, TX.
