Olevia D. Lacy

Mrs. Olevia Doris (Doll Baby) Lacy passed away peacefully and gained her Wings April 30, 2023.  She was born July 5, 1929 to the late Fannie and Handy Moore in Greenwood, Louisiana.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years CSM Arguster Lacy, her devoted companion of 23 years William L. Humphrey and her son Kevin M. Lacy. 

She leaves to celebrate her life her sole surviving sibling Gladys Strange,  children Barbara Ann Moore, Yolanda J. Lacy, Cheryl Denise Lacy, Terri L. Horton (Charles), Misty Wells, Margie Garret (Ray) devoted son Roy Murray, Daughter-in-Law Barbara Lacy and grand-daughters Kimberly K. Horton and Teniya J. Lacy and numerous  nieces and nephews.

She affectionately became known as “Mama Lacy” not only to her patients, professional colleagues and peers but to her family’s friends and professional colleagues as well.  “Mama Lacy” she will be missed by the numerous people whom she touched with her kindness and generosity.

She had a blessed and beautiful life and loving spirit until the very end.  In her words she described herself as a strong person, blessed, loved unconditionally, adventurous and fun filled. 

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a Prayer Service at 6:00pm on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive.  Funeral Service will begin at 9:30am on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Unity Missionary Baptist Church, 4604 Maxwell.  Committal Service to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson.
