Olin L. Morris

Olin Loyd Morris, 77, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2013 in El Paso, Texas surrounded by his loving family. Olin was born on March 12, 1936. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Elsie Irene Morris; daughters: Kim D. Hansen (Cliff), Carol Leigh Hamilton (Steve); son Olin Brian; grandchildren: Travis (Wendy), Carri (Mark), Delana (Michael), Olin Jacob, Taylor, Bridgett, Willow; and great-grandchildren Haley, Shelby, Ericka, Paige, Dean, and Blake. He was a retired veteran of the US Army, serving 22 years and retiring as a SFC. After retiring from the Army he worked with a federal contractor at Macgregor Range. Olin was very active in the community. He was a member of the El Paso Scottish Rite; the Shriners; the Masons; and a life-time member of VFW Post 8919. Olin enjoyed playing on a dart league and hanging out with friends at the “V”. His family and friends will celebrate his life on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 with a Memorial Visitation to be held from 11am-1pm at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Committal Services will begin at 1:30pm, Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Poppa, we are thankful that you are no longer in pain, and we know we will see you again one day. You will “Always be in Our Hearts!”
