Pablo G. Carrasco, Jr., born on June 26, 1951, in Redford, Texas, entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 20, 2025, in El Paso, Texas. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend—loved deeply and missed dearly.
Pablo graduated from Marfa High School before earning his bachelor’s degree in education from Sul Ross State University. He began his career as a teacher at Presidio High School, where he served as a mentor and role model to many. To this day, former students speak of his lasting influence on their lives.
Following his years in education, Pablo dedicated 31 years of loyal service to the Southern and Union Pacific Railroad Companies.
He will always be remembered for his unwavering faith, love for family, strong work ethic, and warm, friendly spirit. He also generously volunteered his time and talents at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, especially through his love for gardening.
Pablo is preceded in death by his parents, Pablo Olivas Carrasco and Anita Gomez, and his sister, Graciela Carrasco. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Nancy Lou Porras Carrasco; his children, Pablo Carrasco III (Elsa), Lorean Salais (Luis), and Aaron Giovanni Carrasco (Lori); his siblings, Armando Carrasco, Hector Carrasco, Jose Luis Carrasco, Sally Mendias, Thelma Miller, and Rosaleen Tarango; and his cherished grandchildren, Xander Salais, Zane Salais, and Emiliano Carrasco. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends who will continue to honor and celebrate his memory.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Valentine, TX. A Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Valentine, Texas.
