David Lee Moore was born May 20, 1976, in El Paso, Texas, to Eugene and Edwina Moore. Raised in El Paso, he excelled in football and track and graduated in 1994. He later earned a B.A. in Communications from Upper Iowa University (cum laude, 2000). A lifelong member of the Church of God in Christ, he served with devotion as deacon (2008), licensed minister (2010), and elder (2013). In 2011 he was appointed secretary and adjutant to the late Bishop William Moore, Sr. at Bethel IPF Church of God in Christ. Grounded in faith and grateful for God's sustaining grace, he often drew strength from Isaiah 40:31.
A third-generation Pentecostal preacher in the C.O.G.I.C. tradition, Elder Moore honored a rich spiritual heritage shaped by his father, Supt. Eugene Moore, and his grandfather, the late Bishop William Moore, Sr., who planted churches across Texas and New Mexico. Answering his call to ministry, he was mentored by the late Bishop William H. Watson, II, prelate of the Texas Northwest Jurisdiction, and continued to grow under the jurisdiction's leadership.
Elder Moore served faithfully in elevated roles within C.O.G.I.C., including serving on the National Adjutancy. He was installed as pastor of Bethel International Pentecostal Fellowship COGIC by prelate William H Watson III on August 27, 2016, where he served with love and steadiness until his passing.
Elder David Moore was preceded in death by his father, Supt. Eugene Moore; his grandparents, Bishop William Moore, Sr., Mother Charlie Moore, Deacon Carl Hall, and Mrs. Roberta Hall; and other beloved relatives.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
his mother, Edwina Moore; brothers, Eugene Moore Jr. and Gregory Watson Jr; six children, Samuel Eugene Moore, David Lee Moore, Marcus Kaleb Moore, Lee Ann Moore, Jane Lee Moore, and Mae Lee Moore; four grandchildren, Aubree Hernandez, Kyng Letrace Moore, Amiree Adylene Moore, and Samuel Eugene Moore Jr, and a host of other relatives, and friends who loved him.
