Patricia Jeane Kastrin

August 12, 1928 — February 17, 2007

Patricia (Patty) Horton Kastrin passed away Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Sierra Medical Center. She was the daughter of Rufus Landon Horton and Johnnie Isabel Roberts Horton and was born on August 12, 1928. She was a loving mother to Pamela Kastrin Stephens and husband, Tommy Stephens and an awesome grandmother to Thomas Dempsey (and wife Julia) and Tamara Dempsey LaFollette (and husband Aric LaFollette), who survive her. She was married for 42 years to George (Papa) Kastrin who preceded her in death in 1990. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Jack, John, Roy , Lloyd and Tom Horton. She is survived by precious great-grandchildren Connor and Alexa Dempsey and Krystal LaFollette and her baby sisters Linda Martinez and Carol Casey of California. She has many nieces and nephews in California who loved their Aunt Patty and three sisters-in-law, Varine, Zola and Teetie, who also survive her. She was a member of Sunrise Acres Church of Christ in El Paso for over 30 years and was a Sunday school teacher for many of those years. She was prepared to meet her Lord and Savior and died peacefully in that knowledge. Patty was an artist and a poem and song writer and wrote a children’s book. The family thanks her close friends, Bill Wright and D’Ann Flores for their assistance with Patty in her final days. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Funeral Service at 9:00 am, Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
