Paul Louis Lieggi (Luigi) passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016
Paul was born on July 17, 1927 to Louis and Edith Lieggi of Cinnaminson, New Jersey. He served his country in the Army during WWII and the Korean War. Paul was preceded in death by his mother and father as well as sister Marian Christ. Paul was a loving father to 3 sons – Paul Lieggi Jr. (wife Lois) of Minnesota, Louis Lieggi (wife Denise) of Kentuky, Rick Lieggi (wife Sue) of Kentuky, daughter Mona Bailey of Kentuky. He is survived by 5 sisters Mary Milvihill, Gloria Fanelli, Shirley Diem, Nancy Lieggi, and Carol Lieggi all from New Jersey. He had 16 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, and his loving companion of 25 years Susanne McCowan.
Paul was a know realtor in El Paso for 60 years. He belonged to many organizations, The American Legion Post #58 where he served as Chaplain for many years, he was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, member of the El Paso Elks Lodge, and member of the Italian American Cultural Club.
Thank you to all the caregivers that were with him in his final moments. Thank you to the American Legion members who stood with him all the way as well as his brother Knights whom he loved dearly. Thank you also to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast for the kind help and services given to the family.
A Vigil/Rosary will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, officiated by Father Ben Flores. Committal Service will follow at 2:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
